I have more than 20 years of experience representing management and defending claims of wrongful discharge, race, sex, and disability discrimination, non-compete agreements, sexual harassment, breach of contract, unpaid overtime compensation and various other workplace torts. My practice regularly takes me before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, and various human rights and unemployment commissions. A substantial amount of my time is devoted to counseling business owners, health care groups and members of management-regional, national and local-on a variety of workplace issues such as drafting and reviewing personnel policies, HIPAA compliance, and discipline and termination decisions, in an effort to ensure awareness of and compliance with applicable employment laws and to avoid the disruption, expense and uncertainty of litigation. I am a frequent lecturer on a variety of workplace and health care issues, including issues related to the employment of people with disabilities.
