Virginia Board for People with Disabilities
I am the Executive Director of the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities, Virginia’s Developmental Disabilities Council. Our policy, research, advocacy, grant and other activities focus on changing and improving programs, services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The ultimate goal of this work is to remove barriers to full participation in all aspects of community life. I speak on the Board’s policy work including our comprehensive Assessment of the Disability Services in Virginia as well as on advocating for public policy change and parenting a child with Autism.
