Jack believes that it is crucial to have a diverse workforce with everyone contributing. This philosophy is evident in his work as he focuses on developing and promoting evidence-based and person-centered practices to improve outcomes in self-advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

For the Commonwealth of Virginia, Jack serves on the Community Integration Advisory Commission, the Statewide Independent Living Council and the State Employment Leadership Advisory Committee. On the national level, Jack serves on the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.

In addition to his advocacy work, Jack is an accomplished artist who has “found opportunities to use his artwork to advance his advocacy and to encourage other individuals with disabilities to fully develop their abilities and pursue their dreams” according to the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities. A little-known fact about Jack is that he has been to all 50 states.
